Women’s Tennis Drops Decision to Regionally Ranked Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata women's tennis team had a tough matchup against #16 regionally ranked Ursinus on Saturday afternoon. The Bears held off the Eagles by the score of 6-3.

 

The lone win in doubles for Juniata came at #2. Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) and Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) won their second match in a row as they defeated BreAnna Bashaw and Ariel Danziger 8-2.

 

Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./Altoona Area HS) faced off against Ashley Nguyen and won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles. Sam Hendricks (McVeytown, Pa./Mifflin County) was a victor at fifth singles as she defeated Christine Palazzolo 6-4, 6-2. Vienna Cordier (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) went to three sets with S.J. Seabra but lost in a super tiebreaker 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.

 

Juniata returns to Raffensberger Courts next Friday as they host Moravian in its Landmark Conference opener. Start time is at 1 p.m.
