Eagles Drop 6-3 Decision Against Lake Forest

ORLANDO, Fla.- The Juniata women's tennis team played under the lights at the Lane Tennis Center on Tuesday night against Lake Forest College. The Foresters won the match by the score of 6-3.

 

In doubles, Sam Hendricks (McVeytown, Pa./Mifflin County) and Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./Altoona Area HS) had a dominating 8-0 win against Alex Kopish and Whitney Navarro. There was a close battle at second doubles between the pair of Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) and Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) and Allison Watts and Lucia Stumbros. Koh and Gray rallied and got the match to 7-6 but Watts/Stumbros were able to get the final point to win 8-6.

 

The Eagles got a boost in singles play at fifth and sixth flights. Hendricks won her match with Kopish 6-2, 6-2. Gray was a winner over Navarro 6-4, 6-1. Koh was the last one to finish on the night and battled with Stumbros who ultimately won 6-4, 6-4.

 

Juniata returns to action tomorrow morning with a match against Wittenberg. Start time for double is 9:00 a.m.
