Women’s Tennis Drops Decision to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.- The Juniata women's tennis team started their season against regionally ranked Salisbury on Friday afternoon. The Eagles lost by the score of 9-0.

 

In doubles, there was a tight battle at #3. Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./Altoona Area HS) was paired with Sam Hendricks (McVeytown, Pa./Mifflin County) and the two had a lead against the duo of  Taylor Cooper/Megan Knapp but Cooper and Knapp were able to outlast Lucas and Hendricks by the score of 9-7.

 

In singles play, Nora Tsai (New Taipei City, Taiwan) went to a third set in her match with the Seagulls' Claudia Lohn. Lohn took the second set while Tsai was a winner in the second set. The third set went to a super tie-breaker where Lohn came out with a 10-2 win.

 

The Eagles will next play Bridgewater on the Salisbury campus tomorrow afternoon. Match time is at 1:00 p.m.
