TOWSON, MD- For the second week, a member of the Juniata women’s tennis team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week. Junior Tori Gray (York, PA/Central York) is this week’s honoree.
Gray was a part of two critical wins for the Eagles against Catholic on Saturday. Playing in her first matches of the season, she paired with Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, CA/Monta Vista) at second doubles. The match went to a deciding super tiebreaker before Gray and Koh emerged with a 9-8 win. With the overall team score tied at 4-4, Gray was the deciding match at No. 5 singles. She defeated Maria Flores 7-5, 6-2 to give Juniata a one-point victory.
The Eagles will host Messiah on Thursday in a non-conference match. Start time will be at 3:30 p.m.
