SELINSGROVE, PA – The Juniata women's tennis team (10-5, 4-2 Landmark) secured themselves a position in the Landmark playoffs with a 7-2 win over Susquehanna (7-4, 1-4 Landmark) Wednesday afternoon.
Susquehanna was aggressive in the doubles competition, sending one set into a tiebreaker. Heather Waring (San Antonio, TX / John Jay) and Rachel Yurchisin (Cleveland, OH / Padua Franciscan) took their set 8-4, as did Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, CA / Monta Vista) and Samantha Hendricks (McVeytown, PA / Mifflin County). Susquehanna won the tiebreaker against Katharine Conklin (Freehold, NJ / Freehold Township) and Cara Stough (Friendsville, MD / Northern Garrett).
Yurchisin, Conklin, Koh, Hendricks and Stough each won their singles sets to lead the Eagles to a 7-2 victory.
Felicia Roppelt (York, PA / Central York) also won her exhibition match.
Juniata faces Goucher (5-7, 1-4 Landmark) Saturday, April 18 at 1:00pm on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts in another conference battle. The Eagles' 4-2 conference record currently puts them in third place above Catholic (10-5, 4-3 Landmark).
