Women's Tennis Makes Comeback Against Moravian

BETHLEHEM, PA – After falling behind in the doubles, the Juniata women's tennis team (9-5, 3-2 Landmark) defeated Moravian (6-7,1-4 Landmark) 5-4 Sunday afternoon.

Moravian got off to a quick start against the Eagles, putting Juniata behind 0-3 early. The Eagles got their game faces on and buckled down for the singles matches.

Juniata took wins in the two, three, four, five and six slots of the singles.

The match came down to the fourth slot, Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, CA / Monta Vista) against Courtnie Lambert. Koh defeated Lambert 6-3, 6-4 to win her set and the match for Juniata.

Rachel Yurchisin (Cleveland, OH / Padua Franciscan), Katharine Conklin (Freehold, NJ / Freehold Township), Samantha Hendricks (McVeytown, PA / Mifflin County) and Cara Stough (Friendsville, MD / Northern Garrett) also picked up wins for the Eagles.

The win pushed Juniata into third place in Landmark Conference standings. Their next match is at Susquehanna at 4:00pm for another conference match.
