HUNTINGDON, PA- The Juniata women's tennis team had a tough battle with visiting Scranton on Sunday afternoon at the Raffensberger Tennis Courts. The Royals defeated the Eagles by the final score of 6-3.
The Eagles picked up one win in doubles play. The duo of Katherine Conklin (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) and Cara Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) defeated the pair of Emily Machado and Courtney Barron 8-4.
In singles play, Samantha Hendricks (McVeytown, PA/Mifflin County) won her 10th match of the season with a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Barron. Tori Gray (York, PA/Central York) won her second straight singles match in a super tiebreaker against Machado 7-6, 1-6, 10-4.
Juniata will face Penn State-Harrisburg in a non-conference match on Tuesday. Start time will be at 4 p.m.
