Women's Tennis Opens Season with 7-2 Victory over Penn-State Altoona

ALTOONA, PA. The Juniata College women's tennis team was victorious in a 7-2 match versus Penn State Altoona to earn the win in their season opener.

 

The Eagles took two of three in doubles with pairs Heather Waring (San Antonio, TX/John Jay) and Katharine Conklin (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) along with Rachel Yurchisin (Cleveland, OH/Padua Franciscan) and Samantha Hendricks (McVeytown, Pa/Mifflin County) winning their matches.

 

Juniata flew to victory as it won all five of six singles matches. Waring, Yurchsin, Conklin, and Hendricks swept the first four matches and Devin Ryman (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) earned the win in the sixth and final singles match of the day.

 

Juniata is now 1-0 to start the season and travel to Oberlin, OH to compete in the Oberlin Invitational this weekend.
