SELINSGROVE, Pa. – After their initial meeting with Susquehanna was cut short, the Eagles returned to finish their match with the Crusaders, Sunday afternoon. After beginning the day up 2-1, having completed doubles play earlier, the Eagles went on to take four of the six singles matches, and earn their thirteenth victory.
Juniata's thirteenth victory represented not only their second straight conference victory, but their fourth straight win overall. More importantly it moved them into a tie with the 2008-09 Eagles for the most wins in a single season in program history.
Head coach Jason Cohen saw an impressive performance in his No.4, No, 5, and No.6 positions on the afternoon. Sophomore Cara Stough (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett) as well as freshmen Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) and Yana Kohler (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) each won in straight sets and helped propel the Eagles to their record setting victory. Juniata is now third in the Landmark Conference, trailing only Catholic and Goucher, and has the best overall record amongst Landmark teams.
Juniata will look for to set the all time single season win record at home against Catholic on Saturday, April 20th. The match will take place at 12 and the Eagles will look to win their fifth straight.
