Westminster, Md. – The Juniata College women's tennis team moved to 10-4 in 2012-2013 and remained undefeated on the road this season. The Eagles swept McDaniel on Friday, winning by a score of 9-0, to push their overall record to 10-4. The win also moved Juniata into a second place tie for best record in program history.
The Eagles were strong in both doubles and singles play and controlled the match from top to bottom. Juniata won each match convincingly and ended up playing the Green Terror in eight game pro sets after the match was clinched early. The Eagles' freshman were especially outstanding on Tuesday. Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) and Mitsuki Koh (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) each won their matches by a score of 6-0, 6-1 and Yana Kohler (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) won her eight game pro set by a final of 8-1.
Juniata continues to climb up the leaderboard in the Juniata women's tennis history books. With their tenth win of the season the Eagles are within one game of moving into second for the most wins in a single season in school history. They are three wins away from matching the most wins in a single season.
The Eagles will play at home against York tomorrow at 2:00 PM before going on the road to face Landmark Conference rivals Susquehanna.
