HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's tennis was recognized in the Landmark Conference post-season awards and placed three players on the All-Landmark squads, when the league's honors list was unveiled Thursday.
Freshman Cara Stough (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett) was voted by the conference head coaches to the All-Landmark Second Team Singles squad. Stough was competitive in the Landmark Conference, ending the season at .500 with a 2-2 conference record.
Eagles doubles partners, sophomore Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and freshman Heather Waring (San Antonio, Texas/John Jay), were chosen to the All-Landmark Second Team Doubles squad. Phillips and Waring finished the season strong, also holding steady at .500 with an 8-8 overall record, 2-3 in the conference. The pair's best match of the year was against the duo of Scranton's Stephanie Boccuzzi and Devon Cohen, as they downed the no. 1 doubles on Apr. 1.
The Eagles finished their 2012 season with a 6-10 overall mark, 0-5 in the Landmark Conference.
