Devon McFadden enters her third year as the swim team head coach (2021-22).
Prior to coming to Juniata, coach McFadden spent three years as the Assistant Swim Coach/Assistant Camp Director with the Greater Owego swim team. She assisted in the management and running of competitive swimming camps ages 12-20, instructed the athletes on stroke technique, drills, and rules of the sport while also overseeing and maintaining the safety of all of the athletes.
The St. Bonaventure University graduate also spent a few years as the Head Lifeguard/Pool Coordinator at Owego Free Academy where she managed the day to day operations of the pool, supervised swimmers to make sure they were swimming within the safety procedures, and performed pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene. She also kept strict records of pool use and chemical levels.
Coach McFadden had a decorated four-year career as a swimmer at St. Bonaventure where she holds the school record in the: 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and the 400 medley relay. She was recognized as a scholar All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA). She was a five-time St. Bonaventure Athlete of the week, was twice named team MVP and was team caption her junior and senior year. She was also twice named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and A-10 Academic All-Conference selection.
