Women's Swimming Open Weekend at Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa.- The Juniata women's swimming team competed in the opening night of the Cougar Splash at Misericordia University, competing against five other teams.  

The team of Kara Mette, Grace Finch, Manali Misra, and Kristen Miller opened the day with the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:50.25 to place in tenth.  

Miller and Amanda Puza logged 500-yard freestyle times for the first time this season. Miller posted a 6:10.50 to finish in 24th place, while Puza with 26th with a time of 6:34.43. 

Maegan Jordan, Emma Mumau, Mette, and Misra each competed in the 200-yard IM. Jordan posted the best time for the Eagles, finishing in 2:29.55 for a 15th-place finish. Mumau was right behind in 16th clocking in at 2:30.70, while Mette was 17th with a time of 2:30.81. Misra's time of 2:38.22 earned her 22nd place. 

Finch, Snabu Neupane, and Megan McConnell logged 50-yard freestyle times, with Finch leading the way with a 27.43 to claim 24th-place. Neupane was 32nd with a time of 39.61, while McConnell was 33rd with a time of 46.23. 

Juniata concluded the evening with the team of Miller, Mumau, Mette, Misra competing in the 400-yard medley relay. Juniata finished in tenth place with a time of 4:34.51.  

Through the first day, the Eagles are in sixth place with a score of 14. 

Juniata returns tomorrow at 9:30 am and 4:30 pm for the final two rounds of the Cougar Splash.
