Women's Swimming Hosts Tri-Meet Against Lock Haven and Lycoming

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's swimming team hosted the first of two tri-meets this season at Binder Natatorium, competing against Lycoming College and Lock Haven University on Saturday afternoon. 

Lycoming earned the victory over Juniata 106-96, while Lock Haven cleared the Eagles by a score of 130-79. 

The Eagles competed in a pair of relay events, finishing in second place in both events. Kristen Miller, Emma Mumau, Kara Mette, and Grace Finch logged a 5:12.35 in the 400-meter medley relay, while Miller, Manali Misra, Finch, and Maegan Jordan completed the 400-meter freestyle relay in 4:48.57.  

Mette, Snabu Neupane, and Megan McConnell each took part in the 100-meter backstroke, with Mette claiming second place from the field of six with a time of 1:15.68. Neupane was in fifth place with a time of 1:51.71, while McConnell was sixth with a time of 1:59.40. 

Misra, Neupane, and McConnell each competed in the 50-meter freestyle, with Misra earning second place from eight competitors with a time of 33.00. Neupane set a PR with a time of 49.18 for seventh place, while McConnell was in eighth, finishing in 1:00.02.  

Miller and Misra each logged 200-meter freestyle times, with Miller finishing in third place in 2:34.67 and Misra logging a 2:44.13 to claim sixth. Miller also competed in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:52.62 to finish in second place. 

Mumau was the only Eagle in the 100 breaststroke, and she finished in second place from four with a time of 1:28.48. Misra claimed second in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 3:14.09. 

Jordan was Juniata's lone 800 freestyle competitor, claiming fourth place with a time of 11:03.61. She was also the only competitor in the 400 freestyle and 200 IM for Juniata. She finished the 400 freestyle in third with a time of 5:26.58, while she claimed second place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:59.33.  

Finch's 100-meter freestyle time was 1:13.37 for a fourth-place finish, while she finished the 100 butterfly in third place in 1:34.57.  

The Juniata women's swimming team returns to Binder Natatorium for Senior Day next Saturday, October 28th. They'll host Moravian University and Franciscan University in a tri-meet.
