Emma Mumau Season Best Leads Eagles to Narrow Victory over Penn State Altoona

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The women's team traveled to Elizabethtown Saturday to compete against Penn State Altoona and Elizabethtown. The Eagles were able to clinch a 92.00 to 91.00 win against Penn State Altoona besting the Lions by one point. However, Elizabethtown bested the Eagles 122.00 to 73.00.

Emma Mumau (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset HS) played a large role in winning the point needed to edge their win in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing by 0.5 of a second quicker than the swimmer in second. Mumau finished with a time of 1:13.15. Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / California Area HS) placed fifth with a time of 1:18.88. 

In the 200 yard IM Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan HS) placed third with a time of 2:28.89, while Mumau finished fifth with a time of 2:33.56.

In the 400 yard medley relay Dettelback, Mumau, Kristen Miller (York, Pa. / Dallastown Area HS), and Priscilla Diamond (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area HS) placed second with a time of 4:28.34. 

In the 1,000 yard freestyle Maegan Jordan and Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J. / Cedar Creek HS) placed third and fourth with times of 12:30.11 and 13:08.07 respectfully. In the 100 yard freestyle, Jordan placed fourth with a time of 1:03.73 as Canale finished right behind with a time of 1:05.18.

In the 200 yard freestyle Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior HS) placed third finishing with a time of 2:13.26, while Sprowls finished right behind her with a time of 2:15.25.

Diamond and Caitlyn DeNapoli (Wyomissing, Pa. / Wyomissing HS) finished back-to-back in third and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with times of 28.10 and 28.84 respectfully. 

Miller placed third in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.88 and Dettleback placed second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.61.

In the 500 yard freestyle White finished first with a time of 5:50.41 while Amanda Puza (Dallas, Pa. / Dallas HS) placed fifth finishing with a time of 6:50.99.

In the 400 yard freestyle relay Miller, Sprowls, Diamond, White finished third with a time of 4:20.53. 

The women's swimming team will travel to Maryland on February 18 to compete in the Landmark Championships.
