Women's Swim Dominates Tri-Meet

ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Juniata women's swimming team traveled to Cedar Crest college to swim in a tri-meet against Immaculata and Cedar Crest. Juniata outswam both programs by winning 155.00-87.00 against Immaculata and 153.00-83.00 against Cedar Crest. 

The 200-yard medley relay team of Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan HS), Emma Mumau (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset HS), Kristen Miller (York, Pa. / Dallastown Area HS), and Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / California Area HS) took first with a time of 2:03.84. 

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Maegan Jordan, Miller, Caitlyn DeNapoli (Wyomissing, Pa. / Wyomissing HS), and Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior HS) placed first with a team time of 1:53.95. 

White placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle clocking in at 11:50.21 and placed first in the 500-yard freestyle at a 5:48.40 time.

Sprowls placed first in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming at 2:14.52, and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:01.82 and DeNapoli placed third at 1:05.64. Dettleback placed second in the 100-yard backstroke, one second behind first place with a time of 1:07.13,  placed first in the 200-yard backstroke at a time of 2:23.56 and placed first in the 200-yard IM at 2:27.63. 

Mumau earned first placed with her 1:15.62 time in the 100-yard breaststroke race as well as in the 200-yard breaststroke at a time of 2:42.55. She then placed second in the 200-yard IM at 2:32.41. Jordan placed right behind Mumau in the 100-yard breaststroke race at the time of 1:21.08. 

Miller placed first in the 200-yard butterfly swimming a 2:35.99. and first in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:08.45. White placed first in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.86 with DeNapoli placing behind her in second with a 29.31 time. Sprowls placed second in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:01.82 and DeNapoli placed third at 1:05.64.

Juniata returns to the pool on January 29th in a tri-meet at Elizabethtown and will also compete against Penn State Altoona.
