Eagles Fall in Millersville Tri-Meet

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata women's swim team traveled to Millersville to participate in a tri-meet against Millersville and Kutztown, where they lost to Millersville 166-80 and 161-81 to Kutztown.

Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) placed second in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 19:54.43. She also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly at a time of 1:07.74. Kristen Miller (York, Pa. / Dallastown Area HS) placed fourth with a time of 1:08.15. Miller also raced in the 200-yard butterfly, placing fourth while hitting the wall at 2:39.70. 

The 400-yard freestyle relay that made up White, Miller, and Maegan Jordan, and Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / California Area HS) placed fourth with a team time of 4:10.60. Sprowls also swam in the 100-yard breaststroke where she finished fifth, clocking in at 1:18.82. 

Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan) and Jordan raced in the 200 yard IM race and placed third and fourth, respectively. Dettelback clocked in at 2:28.92 and Jordan right behind her with a time of 2:31.52. Sharon Shaju (India / Heritage Experiential Learning School) and Emma Mumau (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset HS) swam in the 200-yard breaststroke race and placed side beside as well. Shaju placed 4th at 2:49.06 and Mumau at 5th at 2:49.35. 

Two 200 yard medley relay teams competed for Juniata, the first one being made up of Dettleback, Sprowls, Miller, and Diamond as they came in third with a time of 2:02.34. The second Juniata team consisted of Shannon Thoma (Churchville, Pa. / William Tennent HS), Sarene Goetz (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Barack Obama Academy of International Studies), Amanda Puza (Dallas, Pa. / Dallas High School), and Caitlyn DeNapoli (Wyomissing, Pa. / Wyomissing High School) and they clocked in at 2:23.13.

The Eagles will be back in the pool on Saturday, November 20th, at home, when the team will take on Moravian as well as honor their seniors with a start time of 1:30 pm.
