Royals Out Swim Eagles in First Home Meet

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's swim team took on Scranton in the Binder Natatorium on Saturday afternoon for their first home meet of the season. The Royals took this win home after a score of 130-54 in their favor.

Tabi Dettleback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan) came in first in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:14.58, second in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 33.97, just .02 second behind first place, and third in the 200 meter IM sitting at 2:46:89. 

Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / California Area HS) placed second in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:25.84. 

Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) placed second in the 800-meter freestyle race after swimming a 10:29.80. White also came in second in the 400-meter freestyle race with a 5:08.96 and placed second for the 200 meter IM with a time of 2:46.02.

Kristen Miller (York, Pa. / Dallastown Area HS) placed first in the 50-meter butterfly race with a time of 31.99. She placed second in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:13.99.

Sharon Shaju (India / Heritage Experiential Learning School) and Emma Mumau (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset HS) placed second and third in the 50-meter breaststroke with times of 39.32 and 39.71.

The 200-meter relay team made up of Dettleback, Sprowls, Miller, and Priscilla Diamond (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area HS) placed second with a time of 2:15.08. In the 200-meter freestyle relay, Sprowls, Diamond, Miller, and White placed third with a team time of 2:03.49.

The Eagles will return to the pool on Saturday, November 13th, to take on Millersville and Kutztown in the tri-meet race beginning at 1:00 pm.
