Swimming Falls to Elizabethtown on Senior Day

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata swimming teams fell to Elizabethtown, Saturday on senior day. 

Juniata started off the meet with a close second place finish in the 200m medley relay. The quartet of Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan), Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / California Area HS), Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.), and Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) clocked in at 2:16.03. In the 800m free, White took second coming in with a time of 10:42.52. In the 200m free, Sprowls finished third coming in with a time of 2:29.95 and Emma Pinto (Washington, N.J. / Warren Hills Regional HS) finished fifth with a time of 2:51.76. 

In the 50m free, Priscilla Diamond (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg Area HS) took first clocking in at 30.42 and Carolann Edwards (Heston, Pa. / Huntingdon Area HS) finished fourth with a time of 32.89. The Eagles claimed another first place as Cassie Saniadad (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook) touched the wall at 2:38.06. In the 100m fly, White finished second coming in with a time of 1:16.11. in the 100m free, Juniata took the third, fourth and fifth spot. Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J. / Cedar Creek High School) came in with a time of 1:08.54, Brubaker finished with a time of 1:08.99, and Diamond came in with a time of 1:09.03. 

In the 100m back, Dettelback (1:13.15) finished first, Edwards (1:23.15) finished fourth, and Pinto (1:30.67) finished sixth. In the 400m, Canale just out touched third place to take second. Canale clocked in at 5:24.57. In the 100m breast, Sanidad took first with a time of 1:20.99. In the final event, JC took first and fourth in the 200m free relay. The teams finished with a time of 2:03.33 and 2:13.90. 

On the men's side, Frederick Ginder (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior High School) took first in the 200m free coming in with a time of 2:04.41. In the 50m free, Hunter Mona (State College, Pa. / State College Area) finished second with a time of 26.24 and Evan Walker (Versailles, Pa. / East Allegheny) finished fourth with a time of 27.23. In the 100m fly, Walker finished second with a time of 1:06.59. In the 100m free, Ginder claimed another first place as he clocked in at 56.41 while Mona finished third with a time of 57.21.

The teams return to the pool on February 14th as they kick off Landmark Championships in Maryland.
