SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's and women's swim team's opened up their season at the Schweikert Relays held at Susquehanna University, Friday evening.

In the first event of the night Juniata's two teams took fourth and ninth in the women's 200yd medley relay. The team of Emma Pinto (Washington, N.J. / -), Emma Sprowls (Coal Center, Pa. / -), Carolann Edwards (Huntingdon, Pa. / -), and Priscilla Diamond (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / -) touched the wall at 1:58.60 while the team of Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan), Cassie Sanidad (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook), Alex Fontes (Plymouth, Mass. / Sturgis), and Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) finished with a time of 2:13.82. 

The third event saw the Eagles take fifth with a team of Dettelback, Edwards, and Pinto coming in with a time of 3:42.78, in the 3x100yd backstroke relay. In the 3x100yd breaststroke relay, the team of Sanidad, Sprowls, and Fontes finished in third place with a time of 3:49.25. Fontes, Dettelback, and Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) finished fourth in the 3x100 butterfly relay with a time of 3:26.76. 

In the 500 crescendo relay (50-100-150-200), Diamond, Sprowls, Brubaker, and White finished fourth with a time of 5:27.41. In the 4x100 IM relay, the quartet of Sanidad, Brubaker, Edwards, and Dettelback came in with a time of 4:50.79. The team of White, Diamond, Dettelback, and Sanidad came in fifth with a time of 4:12.73. 

On the men's side, the team of Hunter Mona (State College, Pa. / State College Area), Evan Walker (Versailles, Pa. / East Allegheny), and Frederick Ginder (Victor, N.Y. / -) took second in the 3x100yd backstroke relay with a time of 3:10.46. In the 3x100yd breaststroke relay, Mona, Ginder, and Walker placed third coming in with a time of 3:41.51. Walker, Mona, and Ginder took second place in the 3x100 butterfly relay touching the wall at 3:00.94. In the 500 relay with a shot gun start, the team of Mona, Ginder, and Walker touched the wall at 5:59.69. 

The teams finished off the night with a 200 mixed medley relay. The quartet of Dettelback, Sanidad, White, and Mona took fourth with a time of 2:00.08, Bean, Fontes, Walker, and Brubaker finished ninth with a time of 2:08.64, and Edwards, Sprowls, Ginder, Diamond finished tenth touching the wall at 2:10.59.
