Women's Swimming Drops Seven Best Times on Day Two of Landmark Championships

GERMANTOWN, Md.- The Juniata women's swim team totaled seven best times on the second day of Landmark Conference championships. The women currently sit in seventh with 123 points.

In tonight's finals, the quartet of Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan), Cassie Sanidad (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook), Alex Fontes (Plymouth, Mass. / Sturgis), and Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) placed 6th with a time of 1:56.56 in the 200 medley relay. Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) placed 13th in the 400 IM, coming in with a time of 4:59.21. In the 100 butterfly, Fontes placed 15th touching the wall at 1:02.42. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Sanidad claimed 12th with a time of 1:11.96 and Fontes placed 14th touching the wall at 1:14.49. Dettelback placed 13th in the 100 backstroke, she touched the wall at 1:03.95, In the 800 freestyle relay, White, Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J. / Cedar Creek High School), Dettelback, and Fontes came in with a time of 8:39.32. As a team they placed seventh. 

During prelims this morning, in the 200 freestyle Canale placed 27th (2:13.02) while Brubaker placed 28th (2:16.85). 

White, Fontes, Brubaker, and Canale all went lifetime best times today while Dettelback and Sanidad each went season best times. 

The Eagles will wrap up Landmark Conference championships, tomorrow starting at 10:00AM. Finals will begin at 5:00PM.
