Women's Swimming Sits in Eighth Place After Day One of Landmark Championships

GERMANTOWN, Md.- The Juniata women's sits in eighth place with 54 points after day one at Landmark Swimming & Diving Championships.

Today, Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J. / Cedar Creek High School), Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan), Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg), Maiya Mastovich (Johnstown, Pa. / Westmont Hilltop) achieved lifetime best times. Cassie Sanidad (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook) and Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) both achieved season best times today. 

This morning, Canale placed 37th in the 500 freestyle clocking in at 5:58.23. In the 50 freestyle, Brubaker placed 22nd with a time of 26.97 while Mastovich placed 27th coming in with a time of 28.36. 

In the final session of the day, White placed 13th touching the wall at 5:27.22 in the 500 freestyle. The team of Sanidad, Brubaker, Canale, and Alex Fontes (Plymouth, Mass. / Sturgis) placed eighth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:47.82. In the 400 medley relay, the quartet of Dettelback, Sanidad, Fontes, and White placed sixth with a time of 4:16.52. 

The Eagles return to the pool tomorrow for day two of Landmark Championships. Prelims begin at 10:00AM and final begin at 5:30PM.
