Women's Swimming Falls to DII Kutztown

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's swim team fell, 119-82 to division II Kutztown University, Saturday afternoon.

The meet started with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Tabi Dettelback (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan), Cassie Sanidad (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook), Alex Fontes (Plymouth, Mass. / Sturgis), and Maiya Mastovich (Johnstown, Pa. / Westmont Hilltop) clocked in at 2:15.56. In the 200 free, the Eagles claimed the second and third spot. Kendra White (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area Senior H.S.) came in with a time of 2:25.82 while Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J. / Cedar Creek High School) came in with a time of 2:37.72. Dettelback took third place in the 50 backstroke, as she finished with a time of 33.90. 

Juniata earned another third place finish, as Sanidad finished with a time of 37.91 in the 50 breaststroke. Fontes claimed second in the 100 fly, coming in with a time of 1:10.17. The next event saw Mastovich take fourth in the 50 free, coming in with a time of 33.60. Canale added another third place finish, as she touched the wall at 1:11.44 in the 100 free. In the 100 back, Dettelback finished one second ahead of second place. She finished with a time of 1:13.58. 

In the 100 breaststroke, Sanidad took third, touching the wall at 1:25.05. White and Canale swam the 400 free, clocking in at 5:01.22 and 5:44.51, respectively. Fontes finished first in the 50 fly, she came in with a time of 31.71. In the 200 IM, Sanidad finished first with a time of 2:40.06 while Dettelback finished behind her with a time of 2:52.91. 

The Eagles will travel to Elizabethtown, December 1st. Meet time is set for 1:00PM.
