Juniata Swimming competes in Schweikert Relays

SELINSGROVE, Pa- The Juniata College men's and women's swim team competed in the Schweikert Relays on Friday evening at Susquehanna.

 The men and women competed against Landmark opponents Elizabethtown College and Susquehanna University along with Lebanon Valley College, Lycoming College, and King's College from the MAC conference.

The evening started off with the women's 200-yard medley relay. The team of Carolann Edwards, Alex Fontes, Krista Peachey, and Emily Angeline finished 12th with a time of 2:20.06.

The women's team then added a 10th place finish in the 3x100 yard backstroke relay. The team consisted of Edwards, Samantha Ritchie, and Erin Kingham coming in with a time of 3:43.39.

The next event for the women was the 3x100 yard butterfly relay which consisted of Fontes, Peachy, and Meghan Brubaker coming in with a time of 3:34.82.

The team of Eliis Irv, Danielle Ochs, Brubaker, and Angeline competed in the 500-yard freestyle crescendo relay which the swimmers would swim a 50, 100, 150 and then a 200 to make up a 500.

The women's team swam the 3x500 yard freestyle exhibition with two women, Brubaker and Angeline finishing with a time of 6:59.19. They also swam the 400-yard medley relay as an exhibition event. The team consisted of Peachy, Fontes, and Brubaker coming in with a time of 4:53.39.

Juniata finished the meet participating in the mixed 200-yard medley relay. The quartet consisted of Edwards, Fontes, Jackson Hoch, and Stephen Lane, coming in with a time of 2:28.58.

There was no team scoring in the meet. The Eagles return to action Saturday, October 28th for the Chatham University Invitational beginning at 1:00.
