GERMANTOWN, Md. – Day two of the Landmark Swimming and Diving Championship meet consisted of IM, butterfly, freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke events. Two Eagles qualified for finals in their respective events, while three marked career bests in respective events.
Jocelyn Skelly (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) marked the best finish of the day with her season best time of 1:00.24, placing fourth in the preliminary round of the 100 fly. The sophomore finished the event fourth in last year's Landmark preliminary meet as well, where she set a career best, nearly record-breaking 59.62 time. In the final round, she finished seventh with a final time of 1:00.44.
Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) also qualified for finals with her 16th place finish in the 400 IM. The freshman's 5:31.17 preliminary time is a best in her young career as an Eagle. In finals, she one-upped herself with a final time of 5:29.37, finishing in 16th place.
Maiya Mastovich (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop), Kerry McClaughry (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) and Nadia Moss (Narragansett, R.I./St. Margaret's School, Va.) recorded their career best times in their preliminary performances. Both Mastovich (2:29.12) and McClaughry (2:13.20) bested their previous times in the 200 Free. McClaughry also took another career best in the 100 Breast with her mark of 1:21.04. Moss' 1:19.64 time was a best in her early collegiate career.
