Skelly, Angeline Pace Women's Swimming against Millersville

Millersville, Pa. - Juniata's women's swim team dove into their 2016-17 season on Saturday, Oct. 15, against Millersville. Despite wins in multiple events, the overall score leaned in Millersville University's favor, 119-66. 

The Eagles earned their first win in the sixth event of the day, the 100-yard butterfly. Sophomore Jocelyn Skelly (Hershey, Pa./Hersey) finished with a time of 1:02.04.

Emily Angeline (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) finished the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:13.02, about 11 seconds before her closest opponent. Freshman Meghan Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) also competed in the event and finished in fourth with a time of 6:39.99.

Freshman Kerry McClaughry (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) won her first collegiate event in the 100-yard breaststroke. McClaughry recorded a time of 1:22.37. 

The 200-yard medley relay team consisted of Hannah Shumway (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock), McClaughry, Skelly, and Maiya Mastovich (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop). The team marked a time of 2:06.19, finishing in third in the event.

Emily Stahl (State College, Pa./State College Area), Mastovich, Krista Peachey (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and Elise Kury (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) made up the 200-yard freestyle relay. They completed the relay with a time of 1:59.92.

Juniata's next meet is Friday, Oct. 28 at the Susquehanna Relays at 5 p.m.
