GERMANTOWN, Md. – The Juniata women's swim team competed in day two of the Landmark Championships on Saturday, finishing with a total of 191 points.
Freshman Jocelyn Skelly (Hershey, PA / Hershey High School) had the best finish of the day with a time of 59.62 in the 100-yard butterfly, placing 4th. Skelly nearly broke the Juniata record of 59.60 set by Erika Fimple in 2014. Tzvia Cahn (San Jose / Kehilia Jewish) followed in 9th place.
Senior Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, NY / Bloomfield Central) finished 10th in the 400-yard IM with a time of 5:04.85. Sophomore Elizabeth Hainsworth (Glade Spring / Patrick Henry) placed 8th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.10.
The Eagles placed 4th in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a combination effort by teammates Christine Whiteman (Delmont, PA / Franklin Regional), Francesca Ferguson (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area HS), Skelly, and Hainsworth. The team finished with a time of 8:23.07.
The team will return to action tomorrow for the last day of the Landmark Championships.
