Swimming Competes At Swartmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The women's swimming team competed at the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday.

 

Senior Tzvia Cahn (San Jose / Kehilia Jewish) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25:34. She was followed by freshman Jocelyn Skelly (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey High School) in 10th place and junior Elise Kury (Willow Street / Lampeter-Strasburg) 19th. Kury swam a lifetime best in the event, breaking 30 seconds.

 

The Eagles finished 3rd in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:22.44 due to a combination effort from Christine Whiteman (Delmont, Pa. / Franklin Regional), Caitlin McCann(Chevy Chase, Md. / Bethesda Chevy Chase), Skelly, and Cahn. Whiteman. Whiteman swam a season best time in the 100-yard backstroke leg of the race.

 

The team will compete again Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m.
