Women’s Swimming Returns to Competition at Susquehanna

SELINGSGROVE, Pa., Juniata College women's swimming team returned to competition for the first time since the holiday break.  The Eagles swam against Marywood and the host Crusaders in a Tri-Meet at Susquehanna on Saturday.

 

Head coach Nate Smith stated, "The team had a good performance today with all of our freshman swimming at least one lifetime best. We're in a period with heavy workload and the team is showing they are on the right track."

 

Tzvia Cahn (San Pedro, CA / Kehilia Jewish) finished in 4th place in the yard freestyle with a time of 26:63.  Meghan Swavely (Hummelstown, PA / Palmyra) came in 5th in the 100 yard freestyle, clocking in at 59.31. Ellie Hainsworth (Glade Spring, MD / Patrick Henry) followed her at 6th, 59.64. Hainsworth also finished in the top five in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:53.84 to place 5th.

 

The team returns home on the 17th to host Landmark Conference rival Drew University. The meet against the Rangers will be the final home competition of the season for the Eagles. Events will begin at 1 p.m.
