Towson, MD, Juniata women's swimming competed against Scranton and Goucher on Saturday. Scranton defeated the Eagles 133-66. Juniata also fell to host Goucher 119-71.

Krista Peachey (Hummelstown, PA / Lower Dauphin) had a strong day in the pool. Head coach Nate Smith commented on his freshman after the meet, "Krista Peachey and Emily Angeline (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin East) stepped up and were right on their lifetime best times." She was second in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing .15 seconds ahead of older sister Alyssa Peachey (Hummelstown, PA / Lower Dauphin). Krista also finished fourth in the 100 yard backstroke.

Tzvia Cahn (San Jose, CA / Kehilia Jewish) and Meghan Swavely (Hummelstown, PA / Palmyra) finished third and fourth respectively in the 50 yard freestyle with times of 26.89 and 26.95. Swavely also finished third in the 100 yard freestyle.

The team of Cahn, Swavely, Elizabeth Hainsworth (Glade Spring, VA / Patrick Henry), and Christine Whiteman (Delmont, PA / Franklin Regional) came in second in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Hannah Shumway (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock), Kim Proenca (Thornton, PA / Cardinal O'Hara), and the sisters Peachey placed first overall in the 200 yard medley relay.

Overall, Smith was happy with his team's performance, "Today the team had a good swim. We had a couple of great swims from seniors like Meghan Swavely. There's reasons to be excited. Right now, we're more focused on our training than our meet results. We're in a good spot right now, we'll keep making progress, and hopefully end up in a good place at the end of the season." The team will return home next Saturday as they host Kutztown on Senior Day.
