Women’s Swimming Finishes Third at Chatham Invitational

Pittsburgh, PA, The Juniata College women's swimming team continued their season at the Chatham Invitational on Saturday. The women finished in third place behind Mansfield and Chatham with 568 points.

Tzvia Cahn (San Jose, CA / Kehilia Jewish) finished the 50 yard freestyle in 26.48 to earn first place in the event. She finished 3rd in the 50 yard butterfly and 7th in the 100 yard free. Teammate Meghan Swavely (Hummelstown, PA / Palmyra) was the top swimmer in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 28.90. She came in 2nd in the 100 yard freestyle and 3rd in the 100 yard backstroke.

Krista Peachey (Hummelstown, PA / Lower Dauphin) swam a time of 2:34.15 to place first in the 200 yard butterfly. She and sister Alyssa Peachey (Hummelstown, PA / Lower Dauphin) came in 3rd and 4th in the 100 yard butterfly, with Alyssa swimming a time of 1:07.93 to finish two seconds ahead of her younger sibling.

Elizabeth Hainsworth (Glade Spring, VA / Patrick Henery) swam the 200 yard free in 2:09.45 to finish third. Christine Whiteman (Delmont, PA / Franklin Regional) trailed her at 2:11.86 to claim 4th place in the event. Both swimmers along with Cahn and Swavely swam the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:49.15, as the team finished second overall in the event.

The team will return to action on November 8th, competing in a dual meet with Goucher and Scranton in Landmark Conference competition.
