HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Landmark Conference announced its 2014 All-Conference Swimming & Diving teams earlier this morning. The Juniata College women's swimming team had four swimmers named to the All-Landmark team for their efforts at the conference championship meet last weekend.

Senior Hillary Palmer (Fayetteville, Ga./Fayette County), freshman Erika Fimple (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby), and sophomores Tzvia Cahn (San Jose, Calif./Kehilla Jewish) and Emily Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) all earned both first and second team accolades.

The four swimmers were named first team All-Conference after their title winning performances in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Both first place times set new school, pool, and meet records at the Marywood Aquatics Center, while the mark of 1:38.53 in the 200 free relay set the new Landmark standard. The foursome teamed up again in the 200 medley relay. Their second place performance broke the program record in the event and gave them second team accolades.

Palmer was named first team All-Landmark after successfully defending her 100 backstroke title from last year. She qualified for the finals in a new Landmark, pool, meet, and program record time of 59.37. Palmer also received second team honors with her second place performance in the 200 IM. Her mark of 2:11.88 set a new top time for the program.

Fimple placed herself on the second team with her second place finishes in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Both runner-up finishes broke school records that Fimple set earlier in the season.

This marks the first time Juniata had multiple swimmers garner All-Conference honors since the inaugural season of the conference in 2007. Palmer is the only swimmer in school history who has been named to the All-Landmark team in more than one season.
