Juniata Holds Off Lycoming, Finishes Third at Swarthmore Invitational

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Juniata women's swimming team finished third at the Swarthmore Invitational Saturday after beating out three other teams.  The Eagles posted 375 points in the two-day meet.

 

In the morning session, the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relay teams placed third in their respective events.  Hillary Palmer (Fayetteville, Ga./Fayette County) who swam leadoff on the medley team, finished fourth in the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:03.56. 

 

Palmer also placed fifth in the 100 free after finishing in 57.30 seconds during the afternoon session and swam anchor on the third place 400 freestyle relay.

 

Rowan University won the meet with 1,185 points and host Swarthmore finished second with 664 points.

 

Juniata takes a break for the holiday season and returns to action on January 18, 2013 when they head to Lock Haven University.
