Juniata Comes up Short against Marywood, Falls 107-97

SCRANTON, Pa. – Juniata women's swimming dropped a close meet to Marywood University Saturday in its first league contest of the year.  The Eagles (1-1, 0-1 Landmark) won six events and placed second in four others before falling 107-97.

 

Juniata started and ended the day with relay wins, first in the 200-yd medley and then in the 200-yd freestyle relay.

 

Freshman Emily Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) added two more wins to her season total.  She finished first in the 50-yd freestyle in 26.22 seconds and in the 100-yd backstroke in 57.24.

 

Juniata will travel next to Millersville University on Saturday, Oct. 27.  The have had trouble getting by Millersville in the past, but the young squad will be looking to change that.  Meet time is set for 1 p.m.
