Women's Soccer Falls to Greyhounds on the Road

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team dropped a conference match 2-1 against Moravian Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field. Moravian led 2-0 until the 86th minute when Amelia Yordy got the Eagles on the board. The Greyhounds outshot the Eagles 21-5 as Avery Zales made seven saves on the evening.

Lina Rahman had an opportunity in the first half, but it went wide of the near post. Amelia Yordy found a cross opportunity and connected to Daniela Scipioni, who couldn't get a good touch.

The Greyhound goals split between halves, with one occurring in the 36th minute of play and the other occurring in the 74th minute.

Juniata's 86th-minute goal started when Mckaye Wilton challenged the ball in the air, and the ball deflected down off a Greyhounds defender off Wilton's pressure. The ball fell near Yordy at the edge of the box, and she ran onto it and drove it past the keeper with her right foot into the bottom-left corner.

The Eagles wrap up their season next Saturday, October 28, hosting Catholic at 3:30 p.m.
