Warriors Score Four to Down Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team lost to visiting Lycoming, 4-1, on a chilly Tuesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.

The best opportunity of the first for the Eagles half came to Emma Greggo in the 23rd minute when Mady Fleisher played a ball into the 18 that she ran onto, took a touch, and fired from just inside the box that zoomed just over the crossbar.

In the 31st minute, the Warriors played a ball in from the left wing off a free kick that their player got to first in the box and volleyed it home.

Lycoming held a 4-3 edge in shots at the half.

In the 53rd minute, the Warriors bent a ball in off a corner from the left side that curled over the crowd in front of the goal and into the far corner to double their lead.

Seven minutes later, Lycoming struck again from another corner from the left side. This one was headed in from the six with authority into the right side of the net.

In the 68th minute, Lycoming crossed the ball from the right end line, and their forward steered the ball into the left top corner from 12 yards out to make it 4-0.

In the 81st the Eagles got one back when Naomi Rich played the ball down the right wing to Mckaye Wilton, who crossed it to Daniela Scipioni, who smacked it into the right corner.

Lycoming outshot the Eagles 12-11.

Juniata will host the University of Scranton Saturday at 3:30.
