Blue Jays Blank Eagles

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team was blanked by the Blue Jays and returned from their trip with a 1-0 loss Tuesday night. The Eagles were outshot 18-3, with all of their shots coming in the first half, while Cati Besch made seven saves on the night and kept the shutout in the first.

Off a corner kick in the 21st minute of play, Mariah McDonald got a head on the ball, but the ball went high over the crossbar. Emma Greggo had a chance in the 24th minute, finding an open shot, but missed wide of the goal. With ten minutes left in the half, Greggo found Savanna Murray cutting to get open on the right side of the field. Murray cut left past her defender into the box and took a shot off her left foot, but the Elizabethtown keeper made the save.

The Blue Jays scored their only goal in the 56th minute of play.

The Eagles host Wilkes and celebrate Senior Day this Saturday, October 7, at 3:30 pm.
