Eagles Put Six Goals Past Panthers for Fourth-Straight Victory

BRADFORD, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team secured a commanding 6-0 win over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers on Friday night to extend their current winning streak to four consecutive matches.

Eight total players registered goal contributions across the 90, with Savanna Murray leading the way with a brace. The Eagles averaged a shot every three minutes with 32 total shots against just three from the Panthers.

Lina Rahman opened the scoring log for Juniata in the ninth minute. Amelia Yordy put a ball over the top down the right sideline from midfield, and Rahman caught up with the ball on the edge of the 18-yard box and found the top-left corner from a narrow-angle.

Sydney Simpson was next to score in the 22nd minute, initially heading an Ashley McWilliams corner kick into the post from six yards out before firing the rebound into the net on the first touch. McWilliams was next to score in the 26th minute, as Camille McRoberts in the middle of the park spotted McWilliams unmarked on the edge of the 18-yard box. McWilliams dribbled to around the six-yard box before putting the ball past the keeper.

Murray scored her first goal just seven minutes later, beating the keeper on a ball with pace from a similar angle to Rahman's goal.

Juniata didn't score again until the final 15 minutes, with Murray completing her second brace of the season in the 77th minute. Dani Scipioni drew both center backs to her, creating space to thread a through ball to Murray, who shot over the diving keeper. Mckaye Wilton wrapped up the Eagles' scoring in the 90th minute, using a Mady Fleisher through ball and placing her shot into the bottom-left corner from 18 yards out.

The Juniata women's soccer team ventures to the Empire State tomorrow to play SUNY Brockport with a 1 p.m. start.
