HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team scored three goals in the first half to secure a 3-1 victory over Albright Wednesday night at Gibbel Stadium. The Eagles outshot the Lions 16-7.

The first goal came from an unlucky Lion goal kick. Savanna Murray fought for the ball and stabbed it away from the defender and towards Alyssa Bui. Bui ripped a shot from about 30 yards out from the center of the field. The ball hit the post and shot back into the goal behind the keeper to get the Eagles ahead in the sixth minute of play.

Ashley McWilliams took a free kick in the 25th minute of the first half that bounced off a Lion defender's leg and into the net, putting the Eagles up 2-0.

Bui was unlucky with the post tonight as she technically assisted the third goal to Amelia Yordy after hitting the post stopped a possible second goal from her. Bui shot and hit the upper 90 post; the ball bounced down right to Yordy's head for her to put it past the keeper.

The Lions scored once in the second half but couldn't get past Avery Zales another time.

Zales only had to make two saves tonight.

The Eagles head to Pitt.-Bradford Friday at 7:00 pm.
