Women's Soccer Tallies Five in Win at PSU Altoona

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The women's soccer team returned victorious 5-0 from a road trip to Penn State Altoona Saturday afternoon. Mckaye Wilton and Savanna Murray tallied two goals each, while Lina Rahman added one of her own. The Eagles outshot the Lions 12-9. Brooke Jordan delivered two assists, while Naomi Rich, Murray, and Alyssa Bui each had one.

Rich found herself in a 1v1 with the Lion keeper. She passed the ball around the goalkeeper to find a wide-open Wilton, who just tapped the ball in with her right foot five minutes into the game.

Fifteen minutes later, Murray received a pass from Jordan and beat the keeper from 10 yards out to double the Eagle lead.

In the 26th minute, Jordan provided again as she played a long ball to Rahman, who took a few touches before placing a shot past the keeper.

Juniata led 3-0 at the break and held a 6-3 lead in shots at halftime.

Nine minutes into the second half, Wilton took a long pass from Murray, and the Penn State Altoona keeper tried to beat Wilton to the ball. She got their first, dribbled around the keeper, and slotted home into an open net.

In the 57th minute, Murray scored her second and the day's final goal off a long pass from Bui. The PSU Altoona keeper rushed off their line; Murray beat them to the ball and poked it into an open net.

Cati Besch made four saves in goal to get the shutout.

The Eagles return to action on the road Tuesday at Elmira at 4:00.
