HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The women's soccer team dropped to conference opponent Susquehanna Wednesday evening 4-0 at Gibbel Stadium.
The River Hawks dominated the first half taking 11 shots compared to Juniata's five. Colleen O'Brien shot at the two-minute mark but missed to the left of the net. Alyssa Bui was able to fire off two shots in a row just inside the box but ultimately missed wide after her first shot was blocked by a Susquehanna defender. Amelia Yordy missed high in the 25th minute.
The Eagles conceded their first goal in the 26th minute from a free kick 25 yards out.
Ashley McWilliams ripped a shot off that was blocked by a River Hawk defender in the 28th minute, but the Eagles headed into the second half down 1-0.
The second half saw Susquehanna firing off 11 shots and scoring three more in the 69th, 85th, and 86th minute to tally the scorecard at 4-0.
Julia Lane made eight saves on the night.
The Eagles host Goucher this Saturday, October 15, at 4:00 pm.
