
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team defeated visiting Pitt-Greensburg 2-0, Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
It was a tightly contested first half, before Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) provided the breakthrough in the 42nd minute. Bertrando got to a loose ball in the box and fire it into the back of the net.

JC led 1-0 at the break.
The Eagles held a 7-4 advantage in shots in the second half and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. In the 75th minute, Grace Gibbs (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck HS) muscled past a defender as she latched onto a long pass from Colleen O'Brien(Collegeville, Pa. / Perkiomen Valley) and slotted the ball into the right corner.

The Eagles saw off the last 15 minutes to secure their third shutout of the year.
Cati Besch (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) tallied four saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Eagles return to action at home this Saturday against Elizabethtown. Kickoff is at 1:00.
