MADISON, N.J.- The Juniata women's soccer team fell, 3-1, at Drew University, Saturday afternoon in a match that saw three of the four goals be scored seven minutes apart.
In the 17th minute, the Rangers broke through first when a cross from the right found their striker in the box and they placed into the left side of the goal.
Six minutes later, Brooke Rotheram (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) pulled the Eagles level with a looping shot from outside the box that just hooked in at the far post to make it 1-1.
A little over a minute later, the Rangers retook the lead when Drew played a long ball up the field and their player got to it first in the box and sent it into the net to make it 2-1.
That was the score at halftime, with Drew holding a 14-2 edge in shots and a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks.
In the 71st minute, the Rangers added an insurance goal on a long shot from the right side of the box into the roof of the net.
Cati Besch (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) made six saves in goal for the Eagles.
Juniata will wrap up their season next Saturday against Scranton. Kickoff is at 4:00.
