Eagles Drop Tough 1-0 Decision to Monarchs

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team fell 1-0 to King's College, Saturday.

The first half was scoreless as Juniata was able to get off three shots. In the 21st minute, Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) shot from the middle but it was blocked. Fifteen minutes later, Sydney Riegel (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley) shot on frame from the right side but the keeper stopped the shot. 

The Monarchs scored the only goal of the game 30 seconds into the second half. In the 46th minute, Alexis Ulrich (Middlebury, Pa. / Middletown Area HS) shot high on frame but it was tipped by the goalie. Six minutes later, Bertrando took another shot but the ball was stopped by the keeper. Juniata took three more shots before time ran out but all were unsuccessful. 

King's held a close 12-8 edge in shots and a close 6-5 edge in corners.

The Eagles will host Mt. Aloysius, Wednesday at 7:30.
