HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team grabbed the first win of new head coach Joe Alianiello's career as they won 3-0 over visiting Bryn Athyn, Friday evening.

In the 22nd minute, Brooke Rotheram (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) spun out of trouble around the 18 and laid the ball off Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) who snuck the ball by the keeper to put the Eagles up 1-0.

With three minutes to go in the half, a Bryn Athyn midfielder got her second yellow as JC went into the locker room knowing they'd play the second half a woman up.

Four minutes into the second half, Rotheram again set up a teammate, this time crossing the ball to a Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) who fired it home to double the lead.

In the 58th minute, Rotheram ran on to the ball on the left side of the box and poke it passed the keeper. The goalie tripped her and the ref blew the whistle while pointing to the spot. She beat the keeper going right to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Cati Besch (Bellefonte, Pa. / Bellefonte Area HS) made four saves on her way to her first career shutout.

The Eagles will return to action tomorrow, King's at 4:30.
