Eagles Fall to Royals

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team fell, 5-1, at Scranton in their final game of the season, Saturday afternoon.

Wynter Adams (Houtzdale, Pa. / Moshannon Valley) scored the lone goal for Juniata while, Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick High School) tallied an assist. 

Scranton got off early with their first goal in the first three minutes of the game. In the 23rd minute, Scranton scored again to extend their lead, 2-0. Seconds later Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) took a shot but it was saved by the Scranton keeper. The Royals scored their third goal of the game with two minutes left in the first half. 

Scranton scored two more goals within the first ten minutes of the second half to hold their lead, 5-0. In the 82nd minute, Bertrando found Walshaw-Wertz with a goal over the keeper's head for the Eagles lone goal. 

Kristin Racis (Womelsdorf, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) had 11 saves in the goal for Juniata. 

The Eagles closes the season 6-10-1.
