HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team defeated Drew, 1-0, Saturday afternoon on senior day.
In the first half, Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) scored the Eagle's game winning goal in the 14th minute with an assist from Wynter Adams (Houtzdale, Pa. / Moshannon Valley). Walshaw-Wertz came in from the right side of the box and shot the ball past the Drew keeper into the lower left side of the goal.

In the second half, JC tried to extend their lead. In the 61st minute, Brooke Emge (Waynesboro, Pa. / Shalom Christian Academy) passed the ball to Walshaw-Wertz, then Walshaw-Wertz took a shot from the right side but the ball went high and was tipped off by the Drew goalie's hands. In the 76th minute, Emge took a shot from the right side but it was saved by the Ranger keeper.
Kristin Racis (Womelsdorf, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) had four saves in the cage for the Eagles.
Juniata held a 14-10 edge in shot and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks over Drew.
Juniata will travel to Penn College on October 24th for a 7:00PM non-conference game.
