Lions Down Eagles

READING, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team fell, 6-0 at Penn St.-Berks, Tuesday.

The Lions struck once in the first half in the 21st minute. At the end of the first the Eagles attempted to tie up the game. Amanda Kopacz (Green Brook, N.J. / Mount Saint Mary Academy) took a shot on goal but it was saved by the Penn St.-Berks keeper. 

In the first ten minutes of the second half, the Lions scored three times. In the 57th minute, Elizabeth Bentz (Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) took a shot but it was went too high. The Eagles had another chance to get on the board when Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) took a shot but it was saved by the Lions goalie. In the last 15 minutes of the game, Penn St.-Berks scored their final two goals to make it 6-0.  

Kristin Racis (Womelsdorf, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) totaled 14 saves in goal. 

"A tale of two halves. First half was great with good energy and work rate. The second half we chased the game and never caught up," said head coach Scott McKenzie post- game. 

The Eagles will host Drew on Saturday, October 20th for senior day. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
