Eagles Suffer, 5-0 Loss to Cardinals

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Juniata women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss at Catholic, Saturday afternoon.

In the 12th minute of the game, Catholic scored their first goal in the left low corner. Four minutes later, the Eagles attempted to tie up the game when Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) took a shot but the ball was blocked. In the 28th, minute the Cardinals scored their second goal of the game. With about five minutes left in the first half, Catholic extended their lead to 3-0. 

In the second half, the Cardinals scored two more goals within five minutes of each other. In the 78th minute, Brooke Emge (Waynesboro, Pa. / Shalom Christian Academy) took a shot but it was saved by the Cardinal keeper. 

Kristin Racis (Womelsdorf, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) had seven saves in goal for the Eagles. 

Juniata travels to Penn St.-Berks on Tuesday for a 5:00PM game.
