MEADVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team conceded three second half goals as they fell, 3-2, at Allegheny Saturday afternoon at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa./Warwick High School) and Brooke Rotheram (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) tallied one goal apiece while Amanda Kopacz (Green Brook, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) added one assist. Gianna Canale (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Cedar Creek HS) had three saves in goal for Juniata.

In the 17th minute, Kopacz found Bertrando at the top of the box and she slotted it home just under the crossbar. Juniata went into the half up 1-0. The shots were fairly even in the first half as the Gators heled a narrow 5-4 edge in shots.

Alleghany found an equalizer less than a minute into the second half. 18 seconds later, Rotheram broke through the defense and ripped a shot from seven yards out to give the Eagles the lead back.

Alleghany struck twice in a seven-minute span to take the lead 3-2 in the 58th minute.

Rotheram tested the Gator keeper in the 84th minute, but their keeper managed to keep it out. Fiona McDonald (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) took a shot of her own two minutes later, but again the Gator keeper was equal to the challenge.

Alleghany held a 13-10 edge in shots while Juniata held a 5-1 advantage in corners.

Juniata travels to Penn State Altoona, Wednesday at 7:00.
